Meet Night Like This

NIGHT LIKE THIS started out in 2017 as two friends writing music together on the weekends in their college apartments. Today, NIGHT LIKE THIS has expanded from a duo to a 4 piece band spanning a 6-song EP,  3 albums, and several music videos. All four members live in the Des Moines metro, but they are always down for a road trip to play at venues farther away. For the most part, they cover a wide variety of genres including alternative, pop, country, and rock. However, their bread and butter is 90’s and early 2000’s alternative. NIGHT LIKE THIS is always taking recommendations for new songs to learn and new places to play. 

OUR MEMBERS 

Anthony Balk | Lead Vocalist 

Originally from Clinton, Iowa, Anthony moved to Des Moines looking for opportunity and in order to be part of his cousin’s band, NIGHT LIKE THIS. In his free time Anthony enjoys golfing and making memories with his friends. 

Ryan Brown | Acoustic and electric guitar, back-up vocals

As previously mentioned, Ryan and Anthony are close cousins who have bonded over the years with their love for music. Ryan is from Des Moines, Iowa, and moved away briefly to attend college at University of Northern Iowa. During the summers Ryan enjoys traveling to Panora, Iowa to hangout with his family on the lake. 

Evan Snitkey | Acoustic and electric guitar, back-up vocals

Evan and Ryan became friends in high school and have been inseparable ever since. Evan is from Des Moines, Iowa and moved away for college temporarily to attend Iowa State, where he went to school for software engineering. In his free time he enjoys mixing music and creating mobile apps.

Mike Lieb | Drums

The latest addition to the band, Mike joined Night Like This, sharing his passion for drumming and making music. In his free time, Mike enjoys playing ice hockey, skateboarding, and hanging out with his cats.
